Therapeutic massage incorporates a variety of advanced modalities that enhance the body’s natural restorative functioning. Light to firm touch is used to release tension, relax muscles, increase blood and lymph circulation, and impart a sense of calm. Therapeutic massage can be used as a collaborative, supportive addition to conventional medical treatment of illness and injury, alleviating pain and stress, aiding soft tissue healing, and revitalizing the body. Also, regular massage can enhance health, providing relaxation, release of muscle tightness, relief from anxiety and tensions, and balancing aspects of body/mind/spirit.
Lomi Lomi massage
Lomi Lomi means “to rub and roll”. It is a loving massage in that the practitioner touches and treats the client with love, respect and compassion. Lomi Lomi is also known as “loving hands”. It is a unique style of massage that sees the practitioner using their hands, forearms, elbows, fingers, feet, knees, and even sticks and stones to massage their client.
The massage works by stimulating the natural flow of energy within the body in order to bring about changes in the physical, emotional and spiritual areas. Stress and tension is released so that energy can flow freely once more. It is also deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. Lomi Lomi is good for:
- detoxification and waste removal
- improving the immune system
- stimulating lymphatic, circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems
- releasing muscle tension
- improving flexibility
- improving muscle tone
Lomi Lomi is preformed with minimal draping and no sheets on the table.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the body.
Treatments take place on a massage table on bare skin. Deep Tissue Massage usually focuses on specific areas and may cause some soreness during or after the session. If the massage is done correctly however, you should feel better within a day or two. Water helps to eliminate toxins from the body so it is important to drink plenty of water after a Deep Tissue Massage to help this process along.
Hot Stone Therapy
Stone therapy is a thermotherapy, using stones to provide both heat and cold and the combination of alternating temperatures can be very beneficial. The heated volcanic stones are used on key acupressure sites and the heat relaxes the muscles, allowing for a much deeper massage. Heated stones can also be placed on the body’s chakras, or energy points, working with the body’s natural energy to create balance both physically and mentally. Alternatively, the stones can be used as a kind of “place marker”, letting the therapist know where more specific massage or treatments are needed.
The stones come in different shapes and sizes and the therapist will select the stones according to your needs.
Cold stones are used to reduce and/or treat inflammation, to remove blood from a swollen area, and to rebalance the male and female energies in the body in order to restore the body to a state of harmony. Cold stones can also be used for detoxification purposes. Using hot and cold stones together can improve the functioning of the circulatory system and assist the body with its self-healing processes.
When getting a stone therapy massage, it is not unusual for the client’s body temperature, heart rate and breathing rate to rise and fall during the treatment. This is not harmful and is merely the result of the rapid exchange of oxygen and blood in the body.
All five senses are catered for in a stone therapy massage, with aromatherapy oil and other relaxing tools being used when the massage is carried out. The therapist’s goal is to bring about deep relaxation in the client so that negativity is removed and the client feels an overall sense of wellbeing.
Stone therapy massage can be used to treat a variety of conditions including:
- improving the lymphatic and immune systems
- normalising body functions
- helping your body to heal itself
- increasing of cellular activity
- improving the flow of blood
- inflammation and muscle injury
- removing stress and inducing a feeling of well-being
- balancing the male and female energies
Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

Four Hour Massage
4 Hour Massage Session? Really?
When I first mention to people that I offer a 4 HourMassage Session as one of the options in my massage practice, usually the response is ‘Really? What could you possibly do for 4 hours?” So I thought it might be helpful to detail out a 4 hour Massage experience; here are answers to the most common questions regarding these long, therapeutic bodywork sessions.
Why should anyone get a 4 hour Massage Session?
All of my clients who’ve sought out the long, 4 hour sessions have been undergoing serious changes in their lives. Whether they are rehabbing from an accident or injury, working on radically transforming their physical bodies, undergoing a life change like divorce or death of a spouse, or simply ready to diligently work on releasing old ‘stuff’ they’ve been carrying around; everyone who seeks out one of these sessions has been in a period of tremendous personal change and seeking to release something. The ‘something’ needing released could be stuck muscles, deep rooted emotions, outdated belief patterns or even shallow breathing.
What exactly happens during a 4 hour session?
The entire session is customized specifically for you, and specifically for your current needs. Numerous modalities are used during the session, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Lomi Lomi Massage Trigger Point Therapy and Accupressure. Depending on our previous work together and /or your goals; this is a fully customized session. Then depending on how things actually unfold during the session other modalities and tools may be added or subtracted.
When can I do this?
Generally, we’ll need to schedule this sort of work about a month out. Because each 4 hour session takes at least 6 hours of my time with prep-work, session set-up, the actual session, clean up and recovery time; we need to find a pretty big chunk of time on the schedule. After you receive your first one you'll wonder why you haven't done it before.

Cupping is famous as one of China’s therapeutic methods for treating a variety of diseases and symptoms. While relatively unknown to the western world in the past, currently more and more people are seeking after this great alternative medical treatment method. Cupping is an ancient traditional healing method used in China which dated back from the year 281 AD. This ancient medical practice was originally used by the Taoists in the imperial courts of that era.
Fireless technique, suction is created through hand pump and blood is collected. There are also modern pumps such as electromagnetic pumps which utilize the power of magnets and electricity to create suction. Collectively, this whole method of cupping is widely practiced and is known as “Dry Cupping”.
Cupping should always be done by a qualified traditional medicine practitioner or a skilled masseuse. If done incorrectly, can cause injury or even aggravate existing conditions. Under the hands of a skilled practitioner, cupping has been widely used to treat a variety of disorders and alleviate symptoms due to its blood and lymph circulation improving properties.
